Are you inviting your fiance's side of the family to the lingerie shower?

i'm inviting his mom, but she wants me to invite all of his aunts and grandmothers! i know that my friends/family members are probably going to get me raunchy stuff and i would be horribly embarrassed.

I'm not having a lingerie shower, but even if I did, I would invite my fiance's family.





I would invite the same people (aunts, cousins, mom, grandma, friends) on both sides. So if your Mom %26amp; Grandma will be there - - his deserve an invite.
Reply:You shouldn't be hosting your own shower, now should any member of your own family or your future husband's family. It looks greedy. But that doesn't answer your question.





You should warn your FMIL that this is going to be the female equivalent of a bachelor party and that if she will be uncomfortable with gifts like sex toys you will understand if she'd rather not attend. Then you explain that, for this reason, you don't think this shower is the right occasion for getting better acquainted with your new relatives but it might be fun to have a luncheon or something before the wedding.
Reply:It depends on how close of a relationship you have with his family. i would feel completely comfortable if I had done that with my husbands mom... but his aunts and grandmother, NO WAY! Just tell his mom how you feel, I'm sure she'll understand :)





I didn't have any showers :( All our family is split up and all my friends were across country.





I would have invited his mom, (not my mom lol), My sister, and 5 of my friends. thats all i've got really.
Reply:I didn't have a lingerie shower for that very reason. We did that at my bachelorette party with my girlfriends.
